Ten Chandeliers installed in your wedding tent? Certainly! For this wedding near Lake Oconee we brought all our tricks to the table. Creating a grid network above a full liner install in a 40×100 frame tent, we were able to hang 10 crystal chandeliers of various shapes and sizes, the largest being 4′ in diameter and 5′ tall. We also connected two 30×30 frame tents, each with their own chandelier to create a U Shape around a massive central pine tree which we wrapped in lights up to 20′ high with pin spots uplights installed at the top. That tree then served as the central bar for the event with a four side walk-around bar created with a mixture of serpentine and 8′ tables.
The wedding ceremony was at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church here on Lake Oconee followed by the reception later that evening at the family’s estate in Greensboro.
Many challenges came along with this event. It was a family home and very important to the bride but it wasn’t necessarily best suited for a large scale tented event. On top of the uneven ground and sloping grade, we were within inches of large trees and branches some of which were cut, others tied back with ratchet straps. A subfloor of 1/8″ plywood had to be added under the dance floor to keep it as even as possible. Tables were blocked, extension cords we chainsaw trenched and buried to keep them hidden on their long trek from the generator. But in the end, along side catering from A Divine Event and florals from Le Petit Garden, an amazing vision came to life and a wonderful night was had by all. Check out these gorgeous pics!
